AN AIRPORT fire sparked an emergency response on Wednesday morning, after flames broke out inside a shipping container.
NSW Fire and Rescue crews rushed to the Quirindi airport just before 10:30am, to reports a machinery fire had broken out.
Quirindi firies said a generator on one side of a large shipping container at the airport had burst into flames.
Crews accessed the storage and managed to get the fire under control and douse the flames.
It is understood electrical equipment on the other side of the 20-foot shipping container was affected by the fire, and there was damage to the space.
Quirindi NSW Fire and Rescue firefighters confirmed local police and the Rural Fire Service also attended the airport to help put the fire out.
Ambulance NSW confirmed to the Leader paramedics did not attend the fire and no one reportedly suffered injuries in the fire.
There is no indication at this point as to how the generator fire started.
