THE CREAM of the country music industry have traded lockdown trackies and "iso" outfits for sequins, suits and sparkles to celebrate the Golden Guitar Awards 2021.
Even with face masks on, there was no hiding the excitement of the stars to be back in Tamworth and walking the virtual golden carpet for Tamworth's night of nights.
The Golden Guitar Awards will celebrate both the industry's resilience through the challenges of the pandemic, and the incredible music artists managed to produce and put out into the world during that time.
Jasmine Rae and Casey Barnes - who raised the roof with an epic performance at the event - had the duty of hosting the golden carpet.
The 'red' carpet was golden for the first time this year and was held backstage of the TRECC, out of the public eye, to be COVID-safe.
Fanny Lumsden headed into the night leading the pack with seven Golden Guitar Award nominations for her ARIA Award winning album Fallow.
Other top nominees include The McClymonts and Travis Collins, who have six nominations each.
Tamworth's own talent Aleyce Simmonds was all dressed up and ready to perform on stage at the event, with good mates Amber Lawrence, Kirsty Lee Akers and Dianna Corcoran, who will be on the screen from Nashville. They are up for Vocal Collaboration of the Year.
It was all smiles on the golden carpet, before colourful and bling-ed up face masks were put on and the ceremony kicked off at 7:30pm.
