A star-studded line-up will take the stage at Tangaratta Vineyards and barbecue vendors will roll onto the property on the outskirts of Tamworth, to serve up dinner and a show and raise money for Ronald McDonald House.

Country music star Casey Barnes is one of the big names who will play at Tamworth's Country BBQ on Friday, and said the artists are keen to catch up and have a good time.

"It's my favourite time of year for that reason - it's a chance for us to get together and country music is a really tight-knit community," Barnes told the Leader.

"It's not just a chance for people to come along and listen to some country music, it's also contributing to a great charity."

Tangaratta Vineyards owner Liz Pike said she used to enjoy live country music with her late mother, and had been wanting to throw a show in January for the past five years.

"I had no idea how to organise it ... so to actually have this event that we'd been hoping to have is a bit of light in a dark year," she said.

"There is such a wealth of entertainment out there and you can't beat live music."

The event was the initiative of Tamworth travel agent Chris Watson, and will feature a stellar line-up of artists like Casey Barnes, The Viper Creek Band, Andrew Farriss, Kirsty Lee Akers, Judah Kelly, Southbound, Aleyce Simmonds, Liam Brew, Andrew Swift, Mickey Pye, Ashleigh Dallas and Brock Curtis.

Tickets are available online and the event has COVID-safe measures in place.
