A suspended P-plater has been charged after allegedly blowing four times over the limit after a crash involving a child in Kempsey.

About 9.30am on Sunday, officers from Mid North Coast Highway Patrol were called to Smith Street with reports of a car crash.
Police were told that a Nissan Pulsar allegedly crashed into the back of a Nissan Murano when the driver was trying to exit a petrol station, causing minor damage to both cars.
A nine-year-old boy in the Pulsar, and the four people inside the Murano, were uninjured.

Officers breath tested the Pulsar driver and got a positive result. When they checked further, they found the man had a provisional licence, which was suspended.
The 30-year-old man arrested and taken to Kempsey Police Station, where he allegedly returned a breath analysis reading of 0.202.
He was charged with high range drink-driving and driving while suspended.
The South Kempsey man was granted bail and has a court date set for February 15 in Kempsey Local Court.
A child at risk notification has been made.
