A GUN and more than 350 rounds of ammunition have been seized by police after a vehicle was stopped on the Kamilaroi Highway near Narrabri. The 53-year-old driver was charged after Oxley Police District officers pulled his car over about 10:30am on Tuesday as part of proactive patrols. Police allege the man returned a positive result to a roadside drug test before they began to search the vehicle which contained a firearm and more than 350 rounds of ammunition. The man was arrested and taken to Narrabri Police Station where he was charged with possession of an unauthorised firearm; possession of an unregistered firearm; possession of ammunition without holding a licence and acquiring a firearm and ammunition subject to a prohibition order.
