Kaylan McGrady lodged a bid for release in an out-of-sessions bail hearing in Armidale Local Court on Wednesday morning.
The 19-year-old's bail application was denied by the registrar, who found the 19-year-old was an unacceptable risk of failing to appear at court; committing a serious offence; and endangering the safety of victims and the community.
Police allege he is one of two behind a series of drive-by shootings in Boggabilla, near Moree, in the early hours of November 23.

It's the police case that two men used a white Magna to drive around, firing shots at homes and into the air at about 3.30am. The car was later found burnt out in the Toomelah mission.
In court in November, Alexander McGrady was not required to enter pleas to four of the same charges of firing a firearm at a house with disregard for safety. If convicted, the pair face a maximum penalty of 14 years' imprisonment.
Strike Force Deleware, an operation by New England detectives, has been investigating the shootings which saw five crime scenes combed by investigators.
Specialist forensic police later determined that four homes were struck by bullets while "another location involved shooting into the air", senior police said.
During Tuesday's raids, which took place about 7.30am, officers uncovered a replica pistol and ammunition, which have been seized and will be forensically analysed to see if they are connected to the shooting.
Police said investigations by the strike force are continuing.
