Gunnedah firefighters now have more tools to help them in the case of an emergency after a recent drill.
Gunnedah Fire and Rescue took a tour of the Manildra Flour Mill on Monday night, where they completed the silos and dust explosion drill.
Captain Dave Welch said everyone was now familiar with the layout and what needed to be done if an incident was to occur.
"What we do is a pre-incident plan: where all the vital bits of equipment are, where the meeting points are and hydrants, and work out their mostly likely points where we could find issues and problems," he said.
Mr Welch said every month Fire and Rescue NSW crews were sent compulsory training.
Next month, it's a free drill month, which means crews can choose what they want to focus on.
The Gunnedah crew will be doing the working at heights drill in February, as this was what was currently needed, the fire captain said.
"With the storm activities ... we've been assisting the SES quite considerably so we might refresh on working with heights and water rescue," he told ACM.
