Building a replacement for the 94-year-old Marius Street ambulance headquarters was a major issue at the 2019 state election.
The old station was described as in "deplorable" state, but Mr Anderson did not commit to build a new one before the March contest he won.
In an interview with the Leader to mark the end of the year the MP said winning funding for a station upgrade was a priority for 2021.

He compared what he said would be a "campaign" for a new ambulance station to the battle to win a completely new Tamworth fire station, a process which took five years.
"[The fire station] was hard work but we got there. We'll have to start that campaign with an ambulance station as well," Mr Anderson said.
"I'll be starting the push for a new ambulance station for Tamworth [in 2021]."
Tamworth ambulance staff have long called for a replacement for the ageing station, with the local Health Services Union member James Thompson telling the Leader in 2019 the old station "is deplorable".
"There's been lots of promises and no action. As you can see on our honour boards it says, 'actions speak louder than words'," he said.
Mr Anderson said he also wanted to see ground broken on a new Rural Fire Service Headquarters on Country Lane.
"All our emergency services deserve the very best. That's what we've been working our way through," he said.
"[It's about] making sure our emergency services are taken care of because they're the ones we need the most when the chips are down."
The state-of-the-art new South Tamworth Fire and Rescue 448 Station and the attached zone command office opened in August,
Tamworth's second ambulance station, in South Tamworth, got urgent maintenance in 2017.
