A majority of crime rates continue to fall in Moree, with major decreases in the number of break-ins to businesses and stealing offences, however armed robberies and domestic violence has risen, according to the latest crime snapshot.

The latest quarterly crime figures from the NSW Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research (BOCSAR) revealed that both violent and property offences in Moree have declined by about six per cent over the past five years, while property offences have dropped by 26 per cent in the last two years.
In the two years to September 2020, break and enters to homes have dropped by 43 per cent, fraud has gone down by 37 per cent, stealing from a retail store has seen a 33 per cent decline and car theft has fallen by 32 per cent.
Over the past year to September 2020, all but three of the 17 major crime categories have recorded a decline.

Most notably, break-ins to businesses have dropped by 43 per cent - down from 100 in the 12 months to September 2019 to 57 this year.
Fraud has fallen by 36 per cent in the past year, while stealing from a person, stealing from a retail store and stealing from a vehicle have all seen 33 per cent declines.
The number of sexual assaults has also decreased by 34 per cent, down from 41 to 27 in the 12 months to September.
There was only one robbery without a weapon in the 12 months to September, compared to four in the same period last year, a decrease of 75 per cent.
However, armed robberies have risen.
In the 12 months to September there were two robberies with a firearm, up from zero the previous year.
There were also five robberies with a weapon, but not a gun, compared to zero last year.
The only other category to see an increase in the 12 months to September 2020 is domestic violence-related assault, which rose by seven per cent, from 177 cases to 190 reported incidents.
