Tamworth South Public School went pink, had a hit of cricket and raised funds for charity - all at the same time on Thursday.

It was Magenta Day at the school and Cricket NSW representatives were on hand to run some drills.
"The kids wear magenta or pink and we'd normally have [Sixers] players out there but because of covid we can't do that," Northern Inland cricket manager Adam Skewes said.

"It's about raising money for the Sony Foundation. There's a gold coin donation and the kids get a little Sixers hand and ball.
"And then we play some cricket with them."
The day comes after Cricket NSW ran classes at the school for the past two terms.
Skewes said the kids had enjoyed their time with bat and ball in hand.
"We go there and get the kids playing cricket again," Skewes said.
"We want to raise awareness for the Sony Foundation but hopefully these kids get into cricket and take it up."
