Tamworth residents can expect sweaty weather conditions with a high of 40 degrees and winds of up to 23 kilometres per hour.
As summer rolls around more severe fire danger ratings can be expected, Tamworth Rural Fire Service Superintendent Allyn Purkiss said.
"It's certainly nowhere near as bad as last year at this time where we had been fighting fires continually since August and our drought conditions were extreme," he said.
"It was off the charts for us, it was just really, really dry.
"We're expecting it to be hot come Tuesday but backing off then for the rest of the week."

The fire ban blankets the entire Northern Slopes region, which includes Tamworth, Inverell, the Liverpool Plains, Gunnedah and Gwydir.
Residents in Moree, Narrabri, Walgett and Warrumbungle also face a ban on Tuesday.
Firefighters from Tamworth Fire and Rescue NSW and the Rural Fire Service were kept busy with multiple blazes, including one that is under police investigation, at the weekend.
