A WOMAN has been rushed to hospital by the Westpac helicopter after she collapsed in remote bushland on Thursday night.

The chopper was called in to the Oxley Wild Rivers National Park just before 7pm, to help rescue a 46-year-old bushwalker who was suffering from dehydration.
It is understood she had spent the day with a small group, trekking in a section of the national park at Yarrowitch, near Walcha.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service managed to land on an isolated strip of grass near Birds Nest Hut.
The critical care medical team onboard the helicopter was able to reach the collapsed woman quickly, and assess her injuries.
It is understood a group of three people had been walking since 8am that morning, and the 46-year-old was dehydrated, faint and feeling unwell.
She was flown to Tamworth hospital in a stable condition.
