A MAN has been seriously injured after a trailer he was working on collapsed on him.

The 56-year-old was hit by the falling trailer at a location in the Warrumbungle area, near Coonabarabran on Tuesday afternoon.
Ambulance paramedics rushed to the scene and also alerted the region's Westpac Rescue Helicopter, which was tasked from Tamworth just before 2.30pm.
Paramedics found the injured man who was treated for serious back and rib injuries.

Emergency services were told the male was working on the axle of a 1.5 tonne trailer when it collapsed and hit him.
The chopper's critical care medical team - a doctor and paramedic - assessed the patient at the scene and stabilised him.
He was then flown to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle for emergency treatment. He was believed to be in a serious but stable condition.
