The best under-17s talent from the Central North and New England will unite under the North West Regional Youth Rugby banner at Bowral next month.

The boys and girls sides to contest the State 7s Championships at Bowral on December 12 and 13 were selected following trials at Farrer on Sunday.
The respective coaches - Anthony Barbara and Luke Stephen (girls) and Peter Altona (boys) - were pretty happy with the squads they have assembled, the main concern for Barbara the quick turnaround.

"We've definitely got the talent to go well in the competition," he said.
"It's just going to be tough given the competition is only a couple of weeks ago and we'll really only have the one training session."
"It's a matter of seeing how well they can gel, and if they can learn to work together straight away."
They will have a good session this weekend to try and nut out a few of those things.
"Most of them are pretty fit it's just trying to get a few combinations together," Barbara said.
"In 7s combinations are pretty important."
He also spoke about ingraining in the girls that haven't played a lot of 7s rugby before what they need to do, which is "work, work, work".
Several of the players were involved in the New England women's 7s competition, and Barbara will be looking to the likes of Georgia Moore, Lucy Plowman, Lara De Jong and Anastasia Martin, who was the joint winner of the inaugural Alana Thomas Player of Most Promise award, to really lead the way.
