As of midnight tonight, the NSW Rural Fire Service declared the ban in the face of forecasted hot, windy conditions for Monday.
The areas, along with the Far North Coast, are currently rated as Severe Fire Danger.
Moree will crack 40 degrees on Monday as will Walgett, with Narrabri following in with a blistering 39.
The Northern Slopes fire area, which includes the council areas of Tamworth, Gunnedah, Gwydir, Inverell and Liverpool Plains shires have a fire danger rating of Very High.
Tamworth is expected to hit 37 degrees, with Gunnedah edging in front at 38 degrees.

Some residents outside the town centre experienced a quick, heavy bout of hail pelting down on Saturday afternoon in the widespread but patchy storms experienced across the Northern Slopes.
