The 38-year-old man had a lucky escape when the truck he was driving rolled over in the northbound lane of Werris Creek Road.
Emergency services were quick to respond to the scene of the accident, and as of 4:30pm on Friday the road remained closed in both directions while the cleanup efforts continued.
A NSW Police spokeswoman said it's possible the road could remain closed for some time.
"The road does remain closed with local diversions in place and the truck driver, a 38-year-old man, sustained compound fractures to the leg and has been taken to Tamworth Hospital in a stable condition," she said.
