Keith Patrick King was granted bail on Thursday - 48 hours after he was arrested in Lightning Ridge Police Station after the Toyota slammed through the front doors.

In Dubbo Local Court on Thursday, magistrate Gary Wilson granted King bail on three conditions.

As part of the bail, King must be of good behaviour; live at a residence in Lightning Ridge; and must not occupy the driver's seat of a car.

The case returns to court later this month.

King is yet to enter please to charges of damaging property worth more than $15,000; driving recklessly or furiously, or in a speed and manner dangerous; and hindering a sample taker attempting to take blood or urine sample.

King has been in custody since his arrest. He was denied bail by police late on Tuesday, and fronted court on Wednesday in Walgett where he was again refused bail by a registrar.

Police allege he lost control of a Toyota Camry on Opal Street in Lightning Ridge in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

It's the police case King was behind the wheel when the Camry lost control and left the road, slamming through the front fence of the police station before crashing through the front doors into the foyer about 5.10am.

The crash caused major damage to the police station, but no one was inside at the time.

The 38-year-old was arrested at the scene and taken to Walgett Police Station before being transferred to Lightning Ridge hospital for treatment.

He was released later that day and charged.
