The Tamworth woman was rushed to the nearby hospital by NSW Ambulance paramedics this afternoon after she suffered the traumatic injury to her hand while using a circular saw.
About 3:20pm, the patient was taken to the helicopter base where she was stabilised and prepared to be rushed to John Hunter Hospital by a Westpac Rescue Helicopter critical care medical team.
The crew airlifted the woman to the Newcastle hospital in a stable condition.

Upon the patient's arrival, she is expected to receive further specialist treatment on the traumatic injury to her hand.
It is unclear at this stage whether the fingers can be saved with urgent medical attention.
