This week is set to be a hot one, and while it's predicted to peak today with a top of 38, the whole week is forecasted to stay well within the 30 degree mark.
Other parts of the region are not so lucky, with areas looking set to face down a blistering 40 degree day today.
The hot, dry forecast means fire danger ratings have been increased by NSW RFS.
With weekend temperatures hitting the 30 degree mark and beyond, many areas in the region are urged to be cautious of bushfires as fire danger ratings rise.
Tamworth isn't expected to hit 40 degrees this week.
While Gunnedah is expected to hit that top today, Moree's mercury is likely to exceed that to rise to 42 degrees.
The fire danger rating for the Northern Slopes, which includes Tamworth, Gunnedah, Gwydir, Inverell and the Liverpool Plains Tamworth was upgraded from High fire danger rating on Sunday to Very High today.

The North Western fire area including the Moree Plains, Narrabri, Walgett and Warrumbungle was rated Very High on Sunday and remains there today.
The New England fire area including Glen Innes Severn, Tenterfield, Uralla, Walcha and Armidale remain on High.
