CCTV from one house has captured "three kids prowling" around checking doors early on Sunday, and senior police believe the same gang is behind the latest spate of crime.
Several homes and cars were targeted in the early hours of Sunday, in several pockets of the CBD with homes hit by thieves and cars broken into or stolen.
"The CCTV images show three kids clearly prowling around at night checking doors and windows and cars and we suspect the same persons are involved in a majority of offences that have been reported to police," Oxley Detective Acting Inspector Jason Darcy told the Leader.

"There is a number of groups that are running around town and we need assistance to identity them."
No Tamworth suburb has been immune to the latest crime spike with South, East, North and West Tamworth all reporting break-ins or car thefts.
The new dog squad has hit the ground running, and plain clothes police, the proactive crime teams, extra car crews and highway patrol officers are pulling overtime to work round the clock.
Police released the images on Tuesday and said already some individuals have been identified on social media.
"If you saw these people at the time walking the streets, or recognise them, please come forward," Detective Darcy said.
"We have had people identify some of these persons on social media, but we need them to come forward, and speak to police so we can act immediately and stop more people from becoming victims.
"It's only a matter time, they will be caught and charged and put before the courts."
No charges have been laid but anyone with information is urged to contact Tamworth police on 6768 2999.
