But, now she's heading towards the end of the year with an ARIA Award nod under her belt and a tour she's "so excited" to be on.
The country music star will bring her Fallow album tour to the Tamworth town hall on November 13.
"I've never played at the town hall before ... it feels like the mother church of town halls to play in so it's really exciting," Fanny told the Leader.

"We're so excited to play in Tamworth, it almost feels like coming home in terms of country music."
The packed program of Fanny's performances across the state marks the first time the songstress will bring the tunes from Fallow to a live audience.
The album was launched in early March, after the threat of raging flames had passed, but almost exactly coinciding with the start of the COVID-19 shutdown.
The record has topped charts and has picked up a coveted nomination in the ARIA Awards, for Best Country Album.
Fanny said it's definitely been the kind of year where she has felt soaring heights and deep lows.
"It's been a year of feeling the whole range of emotions," she said.
"It's definitely tested us all in a lot of ways and made us learn new skills and I've become very grateful for the people around me and even where I live."
But, hitting the road as part of the Great Southern Nights initiative has given her another boost.
Joining her on her whirlwind tour this time around is singer-songwriter Timothy James Bowen, who was a semi-finalist on this year's season of The Voice.
Fanny said she was grateful for the fans who had stuck by her and kept up their support.
