Charlie Binge, 11, failed to return home from school on Thursday afternoon, and Tamworth police appealed to the public for help tracking him down.
Oxley officers confirmed on Friday morning the child had been found safely.

POLICE are appealing for information to help them track down a child, who was last seen in Tamworth yesterday afternoon.
Oxley police said 11-year-old Charlie Binge was last seen leaving Hillvue Public School just before 3pm.
Charlie did not return home from his primary school on Thursday afternoon.

It is believed the 11-year-old boy was wearing his Hillvue Public School uniform at the time, which is a green t-shirt and red shorts.
Police described Charlie as being of Aboriginal appearance, about 150cm tall with a thin build. They said Charlie has curly brown hair and birth marks on his face and arms.
Police urged anyone who might know where the 11-year-old student is to immediately contact Tamworth police on 6768 2999, or call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
