Since then the club has called Tamworth's new Sporting Centre of Excellence home, but club secretary Emma Cooper said members were keen to return to the track.

"The club has been really proactive to stick together and get some bike time when COVID-19 protocols have permitted," Ms Cooper said.
"We've been really fortunate to have access to the new velodrome and we've had a consistent membership throughout that time.
"The interest is growing and we are getting weekly interest from people, so we are just so desperate to have our track back so we can tell them to come on down and give it a go."
The funds will go towards the construction of a new track, as well as removing the contaminated surface soil and reshaping the track before topping it with 100mm of clean fill.
A 100mm capping of crushed granite sand will then be applied to the track surface and will be treated with a liquid application to seal it and create a high standard track.
Tamworth Regional Council's sports and recreation manger Paul Kelly said the project should be complete by mid 2021.
"The project's already started with a lot of the planning and preparation work," Mr Kelly said.
"We've already engaged a consultant to do up an environmental management plan, which is the first step.
"Hopefully in the coming month we will engage with a consultant to start doing a detailed design, from there we hope to start turning some soil near the end of the year and have it all wrapped up by the middle of next year."
New England MP Barnaby Joyce said the funding would help make Tamworth a destination for major BMX competitions.
"With $500,000, we are able to turn what is a problem into an even better venue by creating a better surface that can attract national competitions to Tamworth," Mr Joyce said.
"This is a great outcome for members of the Tamworth City BMX Club, a great outcome for Tamworth and further proof of delivery for the New England."
