A MAN has been flown to hospital with critical injuries, after the motorbike he was riding collided with a car at an intersection in Inverell on Monday night.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service and ambulance paramedics rushed to the scene just after 6:30pm last night, after reports a motorbike and a car had crashed.

Police said a 39-year-old man was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle along Warialda Road in Inverell, and a 28-year-old woman was driving a car along Froude Street, when they crashed at the intersection of the two roads.
The motorbike rider was critically injured in the incident.
The chopper's critical care team and paramedics treated the man for multiple injuries, including a leg injury and potential internal injuries.
The 39-year-old rider was was airlifted by the Westpac helicopter to Gold Coast University Hospital for further treatment.
It is understood he is in a serious condition.
Officers from New England Police District established a crime scene, and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash has been launched.
