One week in of their four week donation drive, Lions Club member Chris Kane looks around at the already full tables and tells the Leader, it's just as fantastic as always.
With COVID protocols abounding, the new-look layout is not only flu safe but also more user friendly.
"It's been a great thing for us to continue this year and achieve COVID safe plans, and looking around it's actually been a positive thing out of all the challenges," he says.
While the books are collected all year, the month leading up to the sale sees signs erected all over town with the drop off point at the Tamworth showground's pavilion.
"The Lions Club blokes are great at lifting boxes and throwing a great barbecue, but most are terrible at sorting," he joked.
"So we have a group of friends of the book sale, who come and sort everything out.
"We both have great teams and it's a really, really positive experience for everyone."
He says there are a collection of Tamworthians who come and spend hundreds of dollars on books for the year, and then donate them back to the club and buy more.
Last year the sale raised $40,000, but with the pandemic Mr Kane has no idea if they'll reach or breach that number this year.

"It's all a bit unknown at the moment, it could go either way," he said.
"But the amount of positive feedback we've heard from people dropping off books, it's really heartwarming and a bit overwhelming really."
The sale will run for a week at The Pavilion at Paceway Tamworth on Showground Rd.
The first day is Saturday November 7, 8am till 5pm, then every day from 9am to 5pm running until the following Sunday at noon.
