Oxley Detective Acting Inspector Jason Darcy urged locals not to leave their keys in easy sight or reach, and "target harden" their homes.
"Police remind residents to secure their premises and their cars; don't leave roller door keys in their cars overnight because we have seen offenders easily access premises this way," he said.
"We need community members to target harden their premises, so that means securing their valuables and cars; not leaving wallets or goods in easy reach; locking windows and doors; and remaining vigilant.
"If you see anyone in your street acting suspiciously, then call police."
Anyone with information on the break-ins or who saw the cars being driven is urged to contact Tamworth police on 6768 2999.
