The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service was tasked to Tambar Springs, about half way between Tamworth and Coonabarabran, following reports of a serious accident just after 10:30am.

A 61-year-old male was riding a motorbike on the Black Stump Way on Sunday morning, when he crashed into a stationary ute near the small town of Tambar Springs.
Ambulance paramedics and the chopper's critical care team rushed to the scene, to treat the man for multiple serious injuries.
It is understood he was the only person badly injured in the incident.
The 61-year-old rider was flown to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle for further assessment and treatment.
It is understood he was in a serious condition when the Westpac Rescue Helicopter transported him.
