The matter was listed for committal in Tamworth Local Court this week but was unable to proceed when defence solicitor Jordan Portokalli told the court his professional obligations were in question.
"We are extremely aware of the delay in this matter but unfortunately some developments this morning mean we have to seek an additional two weeks," Mr Portokalli said.

Hanshaw faces a slew of gun and drug-related charges and is yet to enter pleas.
Magistrate Mal MacPherson pointed out an application for a seven week adjournment was refused on the last occasion. The matter was adjourned to October.
