Tamworth Regional Council councillors voted unanimously to allow them to use the space for two nights a week free of charge while an asbestos contamination issue is dealt with.
The BMX club trains in the summer months and with no track, the riders had nowhere to run training or trials.
Asbestos was found at the track in March as part of an inspection audit of all council buildings and since then it has been closed to all members of the community.

A consultant discovered what was thought to be asbestos, so a fragment was tested at a lab and confirmed to be non-friable asbestos.
Further tests of the site revealed asbestos was within the imported fill brought to the site as part of the construction in the 1990's.
The BMX track remains closed until the asbestos contamination can be removed to a compliant level.
