At least 12 households in the Duri village could be banned from the use of groundwater for up to three years after it was revealed petrol from the general store had slowly seeped into the ground for years.
Tamworth's BMX Club might have a temporary new home at the velodrome if councillors vote tonight to offer them the space two nights a week free of charge.
The BMX track was shutdown immediately in March when asbestos was found in the imported fill brought there in the 90s.
A 10-year funding commitment to research aimed to improve water security is also on the agenda.
The council was approached to see if it would be interested in funding Cooperative Research Centres that research water security and the Murray-Darling Basin.
