A RANDOM breath test in Sydney's west quickly became a vehicle search when officers claim they spotted a silver baseball bat in a Tamworth man's car door.

The 23-year-old man was pulled over in a Toyota Camry at Kissing Point Road in Dundas about 1:50pm on Tuesday.
As officers spoke with the driver, it's alleged they saw the baseball bat in the driver's side door.
Police claim a search of the vehicle uncovered $430 cash, plastic resealable bags with prohibited drugs, drug paraphernalia, knives and mobile phones.
The items police claim to have found were seized for forensic testing.

The man in his 20's was arrested and taken to Granville Police Station, where he was charged with the supply of a prohibited drug, possession of a prohibited drug, custody of a knife and custody of an offensive implement.
He was granted strict conditional bail and will appear before Parramatta Local Court on Tuesday, October 6.
Police are continuing investigations into the matter.
