The Tamworth Roosters under-14s upset minor premiers Gunnedah Bulldogs in their major semi-final on Saturday to become the club's first grand finalists.

Beaten in their first two meetings with the Dogs, the Roosters have now won the last two after prevailing in a tight contest 7.6 (48) to 6.6 (42).
In what was another good team performance, the Roosters got the jump on the Dogs in the first quarter and just held them at bay from there leading at every break.

Tom Aitken led the way with three goals while Harry Hagon kicked two and Ash Collins and Lachlan Power one apiece.
Josh Vallender played his usual strong game in the middle, and was well supported by Brody Kelly,Alex Morgan-Giles and Mason Heywood.
Ned Hagon and Liam Bramley had great games in defence, often frustrating the Bulldogs attack.
Dane Cuddihy, Charlie McKenzie, Keith Ryan and Rhyse Frost also played well and helped out in the middle of the park, while Brielle Jeffriess-Tapper and Ariella Vallender rounded out a very solid effort by the Roosters.
Kalan Southwell booted three, Flyn Harrison two and Mason Louis one for the Dogs, who will now play the Inverell Saints after they beat the Glen Innes Celts 12.16 (88) to 2.2. (14) in the minor semi-final.
The Roosters under-17s will be be hoping to hoping to join their under-14 team-mates on grand final day when they take on the Celts in Tamworth this Saturday.
