Richard is well known for his consistent, high quality performances. Gillian has been playing around 10 years and has shown good form particularly over the last three weeks.
Matthew on the other hand is a newcomer to golf apart from a couple of social games each year.
In his first competition match he did some serious damage to his handicap after finishing with nett 62 in Saturday's Monthly Mug.
Billy Blyth also had a great round on Saturday and could be forgiven for thinking he was to be the Monthly Mug winner with his nett 62 but had to be content with 2nd place after a countback.
Grade winners were A Grade - Ian Jeffery, 68, B Grade - Ted Edmonds 69, C Grade - Billy Blyth, 62. Ball winners were John Stansfield, 64, and then John Green and Rob Walters, 66, Graham Moore and Brooke Sheppard, 68, and John Austin, Simon Green and Rusty Brien, 69.
The Hoyt Cup is quickly coming to a close with only two monthly mugs to be played before the 'Cup' winner is decided.
The winner will be the person with the lowest best 8 nett for the 12 monthly mugs, starting from last December. Steve Kent is the current leader with 8 scores totalling 570. Next best are Bob Watson, 575, John Coote, 578, and Adam Paton, 580.
The Order of Merit is now into the playoff rounds with 60 players qualifying to continue.
Again, the next two Monthly Mugs will determine the final placings. Ian Jeffery leads this multi-round competition followed by Harry Edmonds, John Coote, Steve Kent and John Standsfield.
The 2nd round of the Marquart Jug must be finalised over the coming weekend as well as the 1st round of the Mills Plate and the Clayton Shield.
