The garden is displaying a great deal of splendor, and after the rain they've had breaking the three years or so of drought, the garden's future is looking up.
Mr McAlpine shows us his favourites in the video below:
"This is the best time of year for our garden., we have Grevileas in flower, then we have a lot of WA plants in flower as well," Mr McAlpine said.
"Birds, kangaroos too, they like to get into the garden, and you'll have bees and insects as well."
One of the stand-outs plants in bloom at the moment in his opinion is the Erimophilia Nivea.
"[It has] beautiful foliage compared to the standard Emu Bush, and it can get quite large for the Erimophilia species," Mr McAlpine explained.
Another Erimophilia plant there is a ground cover, which is quite hardy and lived through the drought, so they "are quite pleased with it".

The emblem of the gardens and one of the most diverse plants in Australia is the wattle, of which they have four species.
"One of our favourites is a wattle. They are common in this area and at this time of year they are looking fantastic."
