Tamworth Public School's drop off and pick up zone at Bourke Street is now under the watchful eye of a supervisor, thanks to the school's P&C and state government funding.
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson said parents can breathe a sigh of relief knowing their kids won't have to cross the road alone.
"Bourke Street in an extremely busy road, especially in the mornings and afternoons when school starts and finishes," he said.

"The safety of our children is paramount, and all students should be able to get to and from school without the dangers of crossing the road unsupervised.
"This crossing is the latest safety improvement for Tamworth Public School and goes hand in hand with the school crossing supervisor in Napier Street."
Mr Anderson said the man now watching over the crossing earned his stripes working on Calala Lane and Werris Creek Road before being appointed to the East Tamworth location.
Tamworth Public School P&C "worked hard" to get the supervisor to Bourke Street.
The state government funded the position as part of an $18.5 million commitment to increase student safety around schools.
Schools were invited to apply for a supervisor earlier this year and 80 schools across NSW were successful.
