A 61-year- old man has been airlifted to hospital suffering serious injuries after falling off a horse at a rural property.

The man was riding a horse at a farm in Gineroi, north of Bingara, just after 11:30am on Friday when the accident happened.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service and ambulance paramedics rushed to the scene to treat the 61-year-old and stabilise him for transport.

The 61-year-old was seriously hurt in the fall, and suffered spinal injuries.
Paramedics and the chopper's critical care team treated the man at the scene, just after 11:30am on Friday.
He was stabilised before being flown by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter to Tamworth hospital for specialist treatment.
It is understood he was in a stable condition.
