Oaklee Jamey Vreman-Naughton and Brady Williams are behind bars, accused of injured the policeman in Bingara on Sunday, before he was taken to Warialda hospital.

Vreman-Naughton, 24, is charged with a multitude of charges, accused of police pursuits and other incidents in Bingara and the Hunter, while Williams, 27, is charged in connection to the Bingara incident.

The pair appeared in Raymond Terrace Local Court on Wednesday - a day after their arrests in the Hunter.

She was wanted on several warrants and had seven different matters listed including possessing restricted substances listed in court. Magistrate Brett Shields adjourned the cases, and she made no application for bail and will front the same court again next week.

Williams pleaded not guilty to using an offensive weapon to prevent lawful detention, but despite denying the offence, he was refused bail in court. He will remain in custody until mid-October.

The Bingara policeman fell heavily to the ground and suffered head and shoulder injuries on Sunday. He was hospitalised at Warialda for treatment after police claim he was dragged by the vehicle Vreman-Naughton and Williams were in.

It's the police case he attempted to stop them from leaving Bingara when Vreman-Naughton allegedly took off in the car.

Police claim they then spotted Vreman-Naughton on the Pacific Highway at Karuah about 11.40am on Tuesday when they noticed the Mitsubishi Triton with false number plates.

Officers gave chase but abandoned the pursuit because of the manner of driving, police said.

Police then saw the car on Medowie Road and initiated another pursuit before deploying road spikes at Ferodale.

The Triton hit a cement barrier and came to a stop, where Vreman-Naughton and Williams were arrested and later charged.
