The 18-year-old was in custody at Tamworth police station late on Wednesday accused of trying to flee officers in West Tamworth about 11am.
The Oxley Proactive Crime Team and general duties police were in the Coledale area as part of a high-visibility blitz when the teenager ran from officers.
Oxley Detective Acting Inspector Jason Darcy said police gave chase.

"Police were in the area on Wednesday morning as part of an operation targeting a spate of motor vehicle thefts and break and enters, and tried to arrest an 18-year-old man," he said.
"Officers engaged in a foot pursuit with the male through a number of properties before he was detained and arrested."
The teen was taken to Tamworth police station for questioning, where he remained late on Wednesday.
One officer was injured in the pursuit and was taken to Tamworth hospital for treatment of his injuries. Police said he's since been released.
It's the second arrest in as many days as part of the blitz that is targeting property crime in Tamworth.
"A young male was arrested on Tuesday for property offences," Detective Darcy said.
"Police are continuing to knock on doors of these people and carry out bail compliance checks on suspects we believe are connected to the recent spate of offending.
"There are members of the West Tamworth community that we know are harbouring suspects, and further evidence we have seen today supports our belief that they are assisting suspects to evade officers.
"We need people to work with police to report these individuals and any information they have so that we can put a stop to this offending before anyone gets hurt."
Last week, police said a gang of four were suspected of being behind a spate of car thefts and break-ins in recent weeks.
Anyone with information on the recent crime spree is being urged to contact Tamworth police on 6768 2999.
