Liverpool Plains Shire Council (LPSC) mayor Andrew Hope said he was very proud of the way the vast majority of locals had stepped up to responsibilities to keep themselves and others safe during the pandemic and urged them to continue the good fight.
"One of the greatest challenges we face now is the potential for complacency, particularly in locations that remain COVID-19 free," he said.
"In fact, now, more than ever, it is important to continue to practice social distancing, best hygiene practices, and, where possible, to wear facial coverings when in public or in group settings."

Cr Hope said complacency was a "real threat" to society as a whole.
"Perseverance is the key to preventing a second wave from engulfing our region. We have to keep our lives, mental health, and the economy going, and it will take solidarity like we haven't seen in our lifetime," the mayor said.
"Our lives are literally in each other's hands now so stick together and get through this together."
He said every single person had a role to play to stop the spread.
It was particularly important to keep frontline defenders safe, he said.
"Our doctors, nurses, and other medical staff are doing a fantastic job and we mustn't forget the police, supermarket workers, pharmacists and others providing an essential service that involves high contact with many people," Cr Hope said.
"The rest of us will stay safer by living in a safe community. We need to remember that when COVID-19 hits, it overwhelms our ability to live as normal a lifestyle as possible under the circumstances.
"The level of personal sacrifice required will vary and won't be equally distributed at every point in time, but we can get through it if as a community we pull together."
The mayor said everyone needed to "remain vigilant and continue to consider the impact of your actions".
"Stay home if you're unwell and get tested if you're showing any symptoms," he said.
