Nundle business owners are hoping the white stuff will bring an influx of tourists to the small town. But a number of them reported an already busy Friday trade.
Stephen Whale, owner of Machina Coffee Donuts, had only a few minutes to talk before heading off to buy some extra supplies for Saturday. He said he expected a mega weekend.
"It's always a good crowd that comes up here," he said.
"I'm buying enough stock for it!
"I've got the staff on, everyone's ready to go!"

The weekend's snowfall, which is anticipated to be the best of 2020, has been forecast for a number of days. With plenty of notice, Mr Whale hoped NSW tourists would choose to check out their own backyard over the weekend. With what is anticipated to be high and even damaging winds, temperatures could feel substantially colder than headline numbers. But the wild weather should also bring snow to as low as 1000m.
Nundle's business sector has done well out of state border lockdowns. A recent Nundle Business Tourism and Marketing AGM recorded visitation over the June long weekend at similar levels to the town's Go For Gold Festival in some businesses.
President Megan Trousdale, of Odgers and McClelland Exchange Stores said the state government was encouraging NSW residents to check out their own state.
"If we wake up tomorrow and there's a decent covering of snow, I will expect the 4WDs to start heading out to Nundle pretty early to get those hero shots in the snow and start posting! And then people will come back down to the village and get their hot chocolate and their donut and hot meal at the pub and have a wander around."
