A man has died, after his four wheel drive and another vehicle collided head-on, in the state's north yesterday afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to the scene on Ashford Road, Wandera, north of Inverell, just after 3.30pm, following reports two Toyota Landcruisers had collided.
The 32 year old driver and the sole occupant of the first vehicle, was trapped after it rolled down an embankment. He died at the scene.
The driver of the second Landcruiser, that was towing a trailer, and two passengers, aged 42 and 13, suffered minor injuries.

The driver, a 49-year-old man, was taken to hospital to undergo mandatory testing.
Officers from New England Police District established a crime scene and will investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
