A MAN has been arrested and charged in connection to a weekend stabbing in Tamworth, while two other suspects are still on the run.

Police believe the knifing early on Sunday morning was targeted with the "parties known to one another".
Officers quickly moved on one of three men they allege were inside the home in Thomas Street, near McDonalds in West Tamworth.
It started sometime after 7am after a confrontation between several men inside the location.

The 31-year-old male victim was knifed in the back, but suffered "non-life threatening injuries".
He was taken to Tamworth hospital for the laceration to the back and was believed to be in a stable condition.
Police were alerted shortly before 7.30am after reports "of an altercation" inside the home.
"Police attended and a crime scene was setup which was examined as Oxley police commenced investigations," Oxley Detective Acting Inspector Jason Darcy said.
"The male victim was taken to Tamworth hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries."
"As a result of police investigations, a 40-year-old man was arrested on Sunday at a premises in West Tamworth," Detective Darcy said. "He's been charged with assault.
"Further inquiries are continuing into two outstanding persons in the premises at the time of the incident."
Police said the suspects fled the home before they arrived.
"Preliminary inquiries suggest the parties are known to one another, but police are seeking assistance from the public that might have seen these males, or any persons leaving the Thomas Street area early on Sunday morning," Detective Darcy said.
"Detectives have canvassed the area and are seeking anyone who may have seen or heard an altercation inside the Thomas Street premises, or anyone that may have CCTV or dashcam footage from that area on Sunday morning."
It's the second stabbing in eight days in Tamworth after a 21-year-old man died in hospital on August 15.
Strike Force Mindoro detectives are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal stabbing inside the Green Street home, but no charges have been laid.
