Foodies Delight organiser Anna Demasi is calling on local business owners to get involved with the event, which is being held at the Riverside Racecourse on Saturday.

"We've got two locals that have jumped on, so it would be great to have more," Ms Demasi said.

The event will run from 11am-5pm, and will feature a long list of food for locals to indulge in.

This list includes - and isn't limited to - hot doughnut balls with a wide variety of toppings; loaded pancakes; tacos; nachos; garlic prawns; chorizo burgers; Thai satay skewers; wood-fired pizza, and Cold Rock Ice Cream.

Ms Demasi said everything was on track for the event to go ahead, and that the only thing that would stop it would be tightened coronavirus restrictions.

"Unless something changes via the government, I think we've got everything covered from marshalls, spacing, the trucks, the lot of it," she said.

"So come out, have a good time, bring a picnic blanket because the lawns are absolutely gorgeous on site, but be mindful of social distancing."

Moree Plains Shire Council knocked back the proposal to host the same event at its showground in September due to COVID-19 fears.

The NVI asked Gunnedah Shire Council if it had the same fears, but it did not have as strong an opinion as Moree council.

"This event isn't being held at a council property," a council spokesperson said.

"Everybody who attends the event, including the event organisers, stallholders, local attendees and anybody who may travel to the event must ensure they follow current health advice and personally take the required responsibility for being as COVID-19 safe as possible."

Everyone must sign-in upon entry with their full name and mobile number, and visitors are asked to bring their own pen. Visitors can bring their own picnic blanket and chair.

Those who are feeling sick are asked to please stay home. Hand sanitiser will also be provided at the event.

There is a $2 entry fee for visitors, with some of the proceeds to be donated to Rural Aid.
