Elder handled the Ernie Mabbott-trained White Wash to pick up the gelding's fifth win for the season in the opening event - the TAB Odds & Evens Pace.
White Wash had a half-a-neck win over Mac Stubborn (Anthony Varga), with Lettucefireharvey (Leigh Sutton) 27.6 metres away in third place.

"He was pretty relaxed in the run," said Elder of the Surfing Safari gelding.
"We landed in on the leader's back, which was the ideal spot. And when they put the power on in the second quarter, I thought this is pretty good."
With a mile rate of 2min 00.6sec for 1980m, White Wash commenced from the seven barrier before taking a trail in behind race leader Royal Lefty (Michael Formosa), who had commenced out of the one barrier.
Four metres from home, Elder was ready to make the race move with White Wash.
"I had a look behind me and they were spread out like browns cows so I cut him loose up the back straight," Elder said.
After a run three wide, White Wash then found himself in a duel with Mac Stubborn (Anthony Varga), who had been racing out in the breeze.
Elder said: "I thought he [White Wash] was going to go straight on by Mac Stubborn but my horse did keep kicking on."
The second event on the program - the Hygain Tracktorque Pace (1609m) - saw Elder produce a win for the family behind Blazing Shannon, trained by his father Darren.
From the five barrier, Elder was happy to take the Four Stazzz Shark-Silky Shannon gelding to the lead.
"We were four wide into the first turn and got to the top but we did a bit of work." he said.
At race start 15, Blazing Shannon picked up his first winner's cheque with a 3m win over Rocknroll Tony (Tom Ison). Prince of Payne (Tim Varga) was 1.8m away in third place.
