The youngest Celts team were triumphant over the Inverell Saints in their round three encounter.
Greg Sieber kicked six goals and two behinds for 36 of the Celts' points in the 7.10-52 to 4.4-28 win.
The Celts fired early, scoring three goals and two behinds in the opening quarter, and coach Aaron Harvey said it set them up for the win.
"They got off to a quick start so their confidence lifted and they started playing really well after that," he said.
"It was great to see the kids get up and get a win on the board."
The Saints' junior base is arguable one of the strongest in the AFL North West league .
"Always good to come up against Inverell," Harvey said.
"They have a few injuries at the moment but in saying that, you have still got to play good football to get across the line and the kids did that really well.
"Played as a team across the whole ground and it was a really outstanding effort.
"They set themselves three goals to achieve on Saturday and they managed to meet those criterias and got the points on the board in the end."
After Harvey finished coaching the under 14s, he kept an eye on the raw under 17s outfit.
The team has very limited Australian Rules Football experience with a few playing their first game on Saturday.
Despite the 11.15-81 to 0.5-5 defeat, Harvey said there was enormous effort put in.
"The 17s had a loss but, in saying that, their improvement has been fabulous," he said.
"A couple of new guys, it was their first game in so getting to know the game and the skills is just one thing they are going to work on.
"We have got some new players turn up for the 17s especially and once they get going they won't look out of place.
"Their under 17s side that we played, they had three to five of those 17s playing seniors on that day which is great for them but nothing against our guys.
"I thought they played the game really well against quality opposition that Inverell had."
The Celts are still happy to take on more players and invite anyone to come along for their training sessions on Tuesdays and Fridays from 4.30pm to 5.30pm.
"We are all for everyone coming along and having a go so anyone that is wanting to, please come along and have a try," Harvey said.
"We are looking for a few more girls for the under 14s so if there are any girls that want to have a go, we are trying to build that youth girls area.
"Definitely anyone that wants to come down, that is volunteers as well, happy to have them along and help out."
The Celts are back at home this Saturday to Inverell with the under 14s commencing at 9.30am.
