ROAD WORKS will affect traffic in the Tamworth CBD on Sunday morning.
Tamworth Regional Council (TRC) confirmed "necessary" road investigations will take place between 6:30am and 10:30am on August 16 in two locations in town.
Council staff will undertake work at Kable Avenue and White Street.
The affected sections will be on Kable Avenue between Darling Street and Brisbane Street, first thing on Sunday morning.
Then, council staff will investigate the roadway on Kable Avenue between Darling Street and Brisbane Street.
Workers should move on to White Street at about 7:30am, and will inspect the section from Peel Street to Kable Avenue.
Council said if time allows, work will also be carried out on Kable Avenue between White and Roderick streets.
TRC apologised to road users who may be inconvenienced by the road works.
There are also changed traffic conditions in place on Fossickers Way between Attunga and Manilla.
Traffic has been cut back to one lane from 7am to 5pm weekdays for safety work.
The work site is about six kilometres north of Attunga and is expected to take about five weeks to complete.
