The court heard the brief on the case against Son, who is known as Charlie, had been served and considered by the man's defence lawyer.
"He confirms that he's pleading not guilty to the two charges," a Legal Aid solicitor told the court.
Magistrate Julie Soars was told a Korean interpreter would be required but the hearing would take about three hours.
"It is more or less word on word [of the complainant and defence]," the Legal Aid solicitor said.
Ms Soars set the case down for late-September, when Son's Legal Aid solicitor returns from leave.
A bail variation was also lodged with the court during the case mention to have Son's address moved to Sydney, until the case is determined at hearing.
Ms Soars granted the variation, ordering Son to stay in Epping in Sydney and report to a nearby police station every Wednesday.
He will remain on bail until he fronts the hearing next month.
The 15-year-old girl was out walking about 9.30am on the day of the alleged incident when police claim Son tried to start a conversation with her as she passed his parked car.
He is accused of getting out of his car and confronting her, grabbing her backpack and pulling her backwards.
The girl managed to break free and ran from the scene, police claim. After investigations by officers, Son was arrested the morning.
He was taken to Tamworth police station and charged with two offences. He has been on bail since.
