He said: "It's one of the things that keeps me going and playing each year: I've just been there from the start and it's very hard to give it up; you can't really give it up."
The poor young man.
It is unclear if Tamworth coach Wayne May's decision to move the noted defender to striker this season was designed to disorientate Davidson so much that he quit the team.
But while the electrician admitted to initially feeling "weird" in the attacking role, he sadly is now "a lot more comfortable". He has scored in back-to-back games.
Davidson has been at Tamworth since their 2008 launch, and believes he is closing in on 200 first- and reserve-grade games combined. A desire to reach the milestone is further fuelling his addiction.
His family's strong ties to the club has also intensified the problem. His younger brother, Ryan, plays first grade for Tamworth and his father, Grant, is also involved in the club - "helping out where he can".
"That's another reason that keeps you playing," he said.
Born and bred in Tamworth, the Farrer alumnus has been hooked on soccer since he was a young boy.
Such is the club's grip on him, he cannot envisage the day when he is not playing for Tamworth.
However, there was one season when he extricated himself from the dependence: he joined North Companions to play with friends, before rejoining Tamworth the following season.
