Down on the scoreboard with 15 minutes to go, the Blues managed to make the most of opportunities to land the victory on the club's annual Soldier On fundraiser event.
"I was really impressed with the character shown to be able to adjust and get a result," co-coach Luke Stephen said.
"Robb had us pinned in our own half the majority of the second-half so it was really pleasing for the guys to stay patient, back their defence and then, when given the opportunities, make the most of them attack-wise.

Stephen said they'll have to improve on what they showed when they face a Tamworth side bolstered by strong recruitment prior to the season's commencement.
"We realise every new week in this is a new thing, we can only focus on what we need to do moving forward and this week it is a big and somewhat skillfull Tamworth side," he said.
"We focus on what we need to do to be successful and I have faith in our guys' ability to be able to do that.
"I think what was really pleasing from the weekend was the ability of the whole squad, including the bench, to really step up and perform."
