From Saturday, local gyms will have to have a COVID-safety plan in place and hygiene marshall on shift at all times.
The changes come as the state experiences a rise in COVID-19 cases from hotspots in Sydney.
Snake Athletic owner Jake Douglas said his staff were ready to embrace the new guidelines.
"In terms of the new changes, we actually changed our business model upon reopening a couple of months ago," Mr Douglas told the Leader. "We only have 10 in a class at a time with multiple classes happening at the same time in different areas.
"As well as that, we always have a staff member monitoring things to make sure all the proper hygiene measures are being taken. "We introduced this really harsh measures when we reopened, so it won't be too big of a change for us."
The new guidelines will also apply to 24-hour venues such as Anytime Fitness, which informed its members the facility would operate under limited hours.
"We will no longer be able to offer access 24-7 as of 12:01am on Saturday, August 1," the post read.

"We will be introducing hours of 5am-10pm Monday to Friday and 7am-2pm Saturday and Sunday."
Mr Douglas said the COVID-19 pandemic had forced him "to completely change" his business structure.
"We've had to bring on more staff to accommodate less members, which has been a bit challenging," he said.
"However, we back ourselves and we're confident we can come out the other side of this stronger."
